Book the banya. The first night under the stars is on us.
Camping in Bright is not a stand-alone stay — it is the natural end to a long banya session. Book a private session for your group at the Bright banya and your first night on the property is included at no charge: pitch your tents or park the caravan, motorhome or camper trailer after the last steam, sit by your own fire until it burns down, and sleep it off in the shade of mature European trees.
Want to stay longer? Extra nights are by request — send the form below and we will confirm what works around the banya's bookings.

One night on us. More by arrangement.
Camping is for banya-session guests only — it is not offered as a separate booking. Opens together with the Bright banya; until then, follow @thebanyaplace for dates.
Two private hectares, big old trees, the river down the road.
The camping lawn sits among mature European trees on our Bright property — a few steps from the banya, the plunge tubs and the firepit, with the pine forest at the back. Mornings are quiet: birds, coffee, maybe a walk to the Ovens River for a swim. Bright's cafés are a few minutes away.
Unpowered, on grass under the trees — for tents, caravans, motorhomes and camper trailers alike.
A bathroom with hot shower and toilet, a covered shelter for cooking and rainy mornings, drinking water.
A firepit on your own camping area. Firewood can be bought on site. Closed on total fire ban days.
Bundles of split firewood are sold on site, so there is no need to bring your own.

Clear air, no light pollution — and the Milky Way overhead.
Bright sits in a valley of clean alpine air with almost no light pollution. On a moonless night the sky above the camping lawn fills with stars from ridge to ridge and the Milky Way arches straight over the tents. Bring a portable telescope — even a small smart one — and views like these are yours from beside your tent. All of the photos below were taken from the property.

Best on clear, moonless nights; winter skies are the darkest and steadiest. Pack warm layers — alpine nights are cold even in summer — and a red torch so your eyes stay dark-adapted.
The practical bits.
Set up before or after your session; please be packed by 10 am the next morning unless you have booked more nights.
The firepit only — no ground fires. Nothing on total fire ban days; check the CFA for the North East district.
Voices down after 10 pm — the neighbours are far, but sound carries in the valley.
Tent, bedding, torch, your own food and drinks (there is a BBQ), warm layers — Bright nights are cold even in summer.
Take your rubbish with you; bins are at the shelter for the rest.
Welcome on a lead, supervised at all times — the property is unfenced.
Staying more than one night? Tell us.
The night of your private banya session is included. For extra nights, send this request — we confirm availability personally around the banya's bookings.
Other ways to stay on the property.
Before your first steam.
Can I camp without a banya session?

Is the first night really free?
Yes. The night of your private session, for everyone in your group, at no charge.
Can we stay more nights?
Often, yes — send the request above and we will confirm around the banya's bookings.
What are the facilities?
A bathroom with a hot shower and toilet, drinking water, a covered shelter with a BBQ, and a firepit on your own camping area. Sites are unpowered.
Can we have a fire?
The firepit, yes — we supply the wood. No ground fires, and nothing at all on total fire ban days.
Can we bring a caravan or motorhome?
